What to Pack for the Beach This Summer!

Packing is never easy when you go to the beach. The trick is to pack lighter and smarter. You don’t want to feel like a pack mule trudging in the sand under the blistering sun. Which is why it’s important to plan ahead.

Tip 1: Take a backpack. You may want to take a giant tote bag but let’s face it- it’s easier walking around with a backpack and it frees up your hands to carry other things like an umbrella or sunshade.

Tip 2: Baby powder is great for removing sand. It absorbs moisture from your skin and allows for the sand to easily come off. Sprinkle it anywhere from your hands and feet to your hair. Once you try it, you won’t want to head to the beach without it. If you don’t like using baby powder or prefer using something more natural, you can also use cornstarch and it works just as well. Add this to your backpack!

Tip 3: Baby wipes are your friend. You can use them to wipe off your hands after a sticky round of sunscreen or after eating that juicy watermelon!

Tip 4: Slip, slop, slap! You don’t want to spend the next week remembering your picnic in the worst way. Apply sunscreen BEFORE you go to the beach, wear a hat and having a summery kaftan will not only look fashionable but protect your skin from harsh U.V rays.

Tip 5: Bring water. Plan ahead and place them in the freezer a few hours ahead of time for cool icy water to reinvigorate you while you’re at the beach. Stay hydrated in those scorching temperatures. Check out our summer essentials at Chickaberry Boutique now online and in store!
